Annapolis is a quaint maritime town
situated at the mouth of the Severn River on the Chesapeake
Bay. In addition
to being the capital of Maryland, Annapolis is rich in
history and traditions. It is home to the United States
Naval Academy, St. Johns College, and the world's largest
in-water sail and power boat shows. Commonly referred
to as the sailing capital of the world, Annapolis is a
popular stop for many transients up and down the eastern
seaboard. |
City Dock is at the heart of the Historic District where many
of the city's original 18th century buildings still stand.
In fact, the skyline of the friendly Annapolis harbor
has remained much the same for hundreds of years. This
area offers an extraordinary selection of dining, shopping,
and accommodations along Main St.

| Founded in 1845 in an old Army fort, the United
States Naval Academy has grown to fill a 238-acre
campus located just two blocks north of downtown
Annapolis, at the mouth of the Severn River. Since
its inception the Naval Academy has graduated more
then 60,000 men and women from within its walls. |
